Great article raising some really valuable points. We don’t need to keep pursuing novel new methods of farming that are way more energy intensive than they are worth. We have the farmland in most places that can grow sufficient food to feed the population. The problem is that it is not 100% efficient. We are often working against ecosystem services, when in many cases working with them would create more food and more sustainably. Additionally, we are wasting so much food, all throughout the food chain, food left on the farm floor, on supermarket shelves and thrown out at home. These are all steps that can be taken for little cost, in some cases actually saving money as there is less waste.
